The Asianet Film Awards is the most prominent award ceremony for Malayalam films presented annually by Asianet , a Malayalam -language television network from the south-Indian state of Kerala . The awards ceremony has been instituted to honour both artistic and technical excellence in the Malayalam language film industry . Held and broadcasted annually since 1998, the ceremony has gained in popularity over the years and is currently one of the most-watched award ceremonies in Kerala. The awards ceremony is currently co-sponsored by Ujala .

The term "BEST" goes when there is a comparison scale. To say that those countless efforts and sweat and hard work of the rest of those associated with malayalam films last year gets no mention to rope themselves into that comparative scale, to say the least, is OUTRAGEOUS. Superstars are these-days manifestations of Idi Amin proclaiming their awards to themselves. Its too disheartening to see they wash their own yesteryears hardwork with their sins now. "No nomination", my foot!

Asianet idiots . For what the hell did you give best actress award for Kavya Madhavan. Instead of that you people would given to Reema Kallingal for nidra and 22 female kottyam . Reema's acting was so awesome last year .

I agree I'm a kavya Madhavam fan and I agree with you!! I was suprised that she won, but I really felt Rima should have won! You can't just make any actress take the role she did in that film. It's a bit sad she didn't win :/
